West Bay Nippers: Surf Safety
Surf Lifesaving Club, Taiwan
Welcome to our fun and friendly surf lifesaving club in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. The West Bay Nippers surf safety program introduces children (6-11 years old) to surfing and youth surf lifesaving. Everyone is valued and supported regardless of skill level or experience in the surf.
You will learn many skills throughout the program, including surf awareness, performing a surf rescue, and problem-solving.
Please note that West Bay Nippers is not a learn-to-swim program. We strongly encourage you to attend swim lessons.
As with all programs involving young people, the parents/guardians and volunteers make it a success. We’d love you to volunteer your talents and time to ensure the training activities run smoothly for everyone.
Parents/Guardians can provide support and encouragement in the water with their kids. We need sufficient Water Safety personnel for our water events to go ahead.
Finally, I’d love to hear your feedback throughout the season, particularly on improving the surf safety experience for you and future lifesavers.

Mission Statement:
At West Bay Nippers 西子灣兒童衝浪救生, our goal is to help kids aged 6-11 become great surfers and lifesavers. We want to ensure everyone has fun, stays safe, and learns a lot. We believe in working together, being kind to others, and caring for the environment.
Vision:
We want West Bay Nippers 西子灣兒童衝浪救生 to be the best surfing and lifesaving club for kids in Taiwan. We will have cool programs, great coaches, and lots of friends in our community. We hope to make a big difference in kids’ lives by helping them love surfing and lifesaving, get better at it, learn how to protect the ocean, and help other surfers. Together, we will make the surfing world a safer, friendlier, and cleaner place for everyone.
